Usage and Billing

Usage is based on successful identify requests. The dashboard shows the current billing window, historical usage, plan state, and invoices.

Identify requests

POST /v1/identify is the metered product request. Other dashboard management calls are not counted as identify usage.

Free-tier accounts have an included request cap. Paid plans count successful identify requests for the active billing period.

Billing window

The dashboard shows the active billing window and the time until it closes. For paid subscriptions, this follows the subscription period. For free accounts, it follows the current calendar period shown in the dashboard.

Plan changes

Plan changes are managed from the dashboard billing screen. When a plan change has a prorated effect, the dashboard shows a preview before the change is confirmed.

Quota and payment states

An identify request can be rejected when the account has exceeded its free-tier quota or when the billing state does not allow more requests.

If a production integration receives 402, check the dashboard billing page first, then confirm the API key belongs to the expected account.

Invoices

Invoices are available from the billing screen when the account has an active billing customer record. Use the dashboard rather than public API keys for billing management.
